The Wing Nut Tribe Has Issues with Rev. Lowery

January 22, 2009

So the wing nut tribe is in an uproar over Rev. Lowery issuing the following statement in his prayer at the inauguration:

Yes, let’s pretend racism doesn’t exist.  It make bull shit artist such as Glenn ass-hole Beck feel more comfortable.  Too bad, racism is real and it still lives on.  What the Rev. said only offended those that are either lying to themselves (as well as others) or those that live in a bubble.

I should believe that Rev. Lowery saying that when some of the bigoted white people that still are around — ask Palin considering she excite a whole bunch of them during the general election — to get it right is a racist term?  How the hell so?  Lowery is not saying all white people are racist.  He just stated a fact that if nothing else, reminded us that the general election brought that crap right back to the forefront.  I still have clips of some of the ignorant racist shaming our country with their baseless bigotry and total lack of 6 grade intelligence to assimilate fact.

Listening to this shit, it makes me wonder if Glenn Beck would be the first to condone and/or justify the village idiots in LA that were killing and shooting innocent Black people during Katrina with the nonsense that they were protecting their property?

Just how far up in the sky is Glenn Beck’s bubble?  He dared to indicated that Rev. Lowery is an older gentlemen?  The man is not just an older gentlemen, he comes from the long and continued history of blatant racism.

To top it off that bitch Glen Beck dared to tell President Obama to help us to help you?  Please, you’re the same ass hold that reported this:

WTF?  How utterly phony Glen Beck is with this crap.  Sarah Palin went around spreading divisiveness everywhere the chick went and he dares to object to some one else stating actual fact and then twist it into that person being racist?  Where the hell was his outrage over Bush’s continuous crimes?  I am so sick of these wing nut’s with their bull shit artist always spouting their hypocritical nonsense on a regular basis.  Just who, I really mean who, but the wing nut tribe, inclusive of Glen full-of-shit-Beck, gives a shit what empty headed Barbie has to say about anything?  She’s like T-Rex — EXTINCT, never to rise again.  Of course unless fools like Beck want her to challenge a real person of intelligence in 2012.

Why don’t he, and Pat Buchanan, get a fucking bottle and a room and leave us alone with their sexual repressed love of Sarah don’t-even-have-a-small-clue Palin?

January 19, 2009

I thought this was an appropriate post to end tonight’s posting on.  May J. Blige is awesome and is so filled with soul and she did the inauguration justice with her presence.  What can one say about the beautiful Beyonce?  She is just wonderful.  Enjoy and good night.

The Road To The Inauguration

January 19, 2009

As I sit here watching a show going back over the campaign trail, the one thing that is stark and can not be missed was the enormous crowds that President Obama easily drew while on the stump.  He was and is a people magnet and the many overwhelming speeches he gave were absolutely stunning.

2008-07-24-crowds obama-oregon4

I can not predict the future, but I do know the past and there is no one that has had the same allure that this one man has captured.  His passion, his desire, his belief in us and our country were transparent and drew us like bees to honey.  He expressed his feelings so eloquently and in that effort he said what we all wanted to hear, an end to divisiveness.  As our problems grew way out of proportion, President Obama started to really embodied what we were sure we needed.  Simply put that was HOPE.

Here we had a candidate, President Obama, that was steady as a rock, confident and just oozing with a calming effect.  Listening to President Obama and seeing him always had a calming effect.  He had the talent to literally chase some of our fears away.  It wasn’t about making him into a God or a spiritual leader.  It was about being utterly tired, 8 years of BS, a jerk of a president, and a Vice President that made people think of Darth Vader.  Then there was McCain.

obama-invesco2 100000 for obama

McCain came on the scene filled with age and selling the same old stale tomatoes, that were so old they looked like rocks.  That part might have been over looked, because at least he had experience.  Although there were moments you didn’t know what McCain’s campaign strategy was since it came across as disjointed, superficial and without a real message.  It all came crashing down though at precisely the same time Sarah Palin was introduced as the possible next Vice President.

10-31 wicker park IN kansascity14

Not only did Palin not enhance McCain, her presence only caused a stronger division between the extreme right and the rest of America.  She was touted as being a conservative dream.  That didn’t last long as the intellectual conservatives came out in force and acknowledged, what those who were not conservative saw right away, Palin was too much of a risk; or, a better way of putting it, she was Bush only a female.  It was if the McCain camp thought Obama’s charm came from his inexperience or his youth.  Such was not the case and Palin’s lack of any knowledge was to be the bitter pill McCain would have to swallow.  Accepting Palin as another Bush was something none of us was willing to risk.  The one thing we knew for sure was that Bush was going away and no one would accept a Bush substitute not even in the form of conservative Palin.  None of the dirty tricks or hard campaigning in divisiveness was going to pull this election into the republicans’ corner.

nm4 unfucking believable

The general election was not pretty.  It was filled with a lot of hateful messages and most centered and came from the McCain/Palin camp.  The GOP refused to understand that they were up against the people.  President Obama was our representative and they didn’t stand a chance.  We were way to tired of more of the same.  It didn’t take long before the lack of discipline to start creeping out from the McCain/Palin camp.  Fingers started pointing, accusations were being made, name calling came next, well you know the story.  It just could not be accepted that the simple phrase “Yes We Can,” had won a nation over.

obama-invesco10 smh

And now the moment is upon us and we have made our choice.  Ladies and Gentlemen may I introduce you to our next president, Barack Hussiem Obama.

Nothing to do about nothing

December 31, 2008

This post is only dedicated to my best friend who is leaving me to go overseas and live in London.  I am so happy that his dream is being realized.  I am equally sadden that we will no longer share the dark side, a knowing glance, an informative smile or a burst of trivia song expressing a multitude of meaning.

To my best bud I wish him well and that all that his move can grant him will be reached.  Though I am both sadden and happy I can only say you go dude and knock them dead.  We stay in contact via email and make the best of that.  No it will never replace the spontaneous hugs or glances and smiles but will have to be enough.  Especially until I get up off my butt and go and see him in London.

If ever two people were destined to be soulmates and forever friends that would be me and my very perfect buddy, Michael.

Much love and success to my special friend Michael.

Sign Out Song: I Love Him Like I Do

December 30, 2008

Okay tonight’s selection is me showing my Christian side.  I really loved this song and found it inspirational and uplifting, as well as hot and current with today’s generation.  It is also absent of all hate.  God in this song is just someone that loves us without conditions.  Amazing, we do not have to be racist or bigots to be loved.  That’s a God I can get down with.  I hope you all enjoy it as well.  Good night

Enough said.

60 Minutes — Obama’s Road to the White House

December 29, 2008

Here’s a 60 minutes’ special that came on Sunday night. Its a behind the scene look at President Obama’s road to the white house. This was a very interesting interview and I quite enjoyed it

I did note that President Obama looked a lot younger during the beginning of the interview then he looks now. I’d say the campaign did take it’s toll.

The funniest part is when the reporter mentioned that some Blacks think that President Obama was not black enough. They got that wrong.  No, the problem was some of us thought he was too black and was scared he could never be perceived for who he was. Guess what? The people got it and saw him as a man of the people. Unlike a man of the establishment.

Though my feelings for McCain has reverted back to what they were before the ugliness of the general election, McCain was still a man of the establishment.  I see hope with President Obama being possibly realized and with Joe Biden by his side they will get it done.  Sorry McCain, I like you, but I did not see hope and with Palin beside you I only saw a disaster in the making.

No One Follows the Bible

December 28, 2008

Here’s a little Bible study that is worth listening to. I just love it when I get my dose of scriptures mix in with the comments.  Please know that I find the bulk of them to be false and just another way to spread hate based off of bigoted opinion.

That there are people out there pretending they are living the christian way is what makes the scripture quoting even more comical for me.   If some of those same people were really trying to live a Godly life then what happened to the part where they give up all their worldly goods to follow Jesus?

I’m sure if they looked hard enough they’d find a verse in the Bible where  quoting scripture to get across bigoted ideas is all that there God required.

Asteroid Impact (HD)

December 28, 2008

Okay this one caught my attention. This is what the impact of an Asteroid, that was large enough, would have if it hit the earth and landed in the pacific ocean. This is not pretty.

While people are worrying about arguing over the right versus left.  In such a situation as depicted in this video, the Bible would not save any of us.  Wishing science away will not save us either.

We need to reflect on other possibilities that makes subjects like left vs right moot.  Hm…say an economic meltdown, perhaps?

Pat Robertson for President Obama? WTF?

December 24, 2008

What is this? Is this the Warren effect? You know the effect that the media reported would not be effective?

Trust me, I was hard pressed to post P. Robertson since I am not a groupie; but, it needed to be noted that yes once again President Obama had it right. We need to reach out.

I tolerant much trying to reach out and get those that are on the right (Don’t know why the extreme right read my site though) to see the bigger picture.

Last time I checked, the gay issue was suppose to be about civil rights and the best way to get it is by being inclusive and not separating only what we hate.  Although, I do not agree with any of Rick Warren’s views on gay rights, I did have to note that the man is trying.  He scrubbed his site of homosexual slurs and insults and is not all bad.  He actually is not the typical make a dime and put it in his pocket Evangelical.  He also believes in civil rights, which is shocking to know.

I think its time for a new tomorrow and we should not exclude just because that’s what the enemy does so well.

“Event Horizon” — My moment of Weirdness

December 23, 2008

This is one of my favorite movies. It did not earn any real money but I got such a kick out of the wing nut tribe’s premise of scientist being evil, that I still look at it 11 years later.

You would think that it would have been enough to generate money from that fickle lot, but no.  Yet, I love to watch it for its special effects and the sheer silliness of its premise. My favorite line is when Laurence Fishburne says “F__k this ship” to the crazy evil scientist, Sam Neil.

Of course it is also filled with plenty of blood, gore and stupidity (disconnect from logical reality). But I still love laughing at it even 11 years later.  Here’s a few pieces of the movie.  Both a  summation of the movie without words and finally the trailer with words.  If you want more, go rent it or buy the video.

I get such a kick at looking at a good movie of good versus evil based off of what the wing nut tribe think is our down fall.  It’s so much fun.  It’s been 8 years of this nonsense and I can’t wait until it finally comes to an end.  Yet, I will still go see this stupid kind of stuff.  This is worthy of house shoes, house coats, coacoa and a bowl of popcorn if you love blood and gore.  Isn’t it strange how evil almost always win?

The Auto Industry?

December 20, 2008

gmcarsI’m wondering if our auto industry in the future will just be called auto industries?  Now is the time for growth.  The auto industry have some of the greatest builders.  Might we not use them to help with upgrading our train industry?  I feel that their restructure under President Obama will possibly take a new direction.  Not just green cars but for other modes of transportation.  President Obama is very future oriented and I can easily see him directing the auto industry into the future.

I am waiting with anticipation of where our new auto industry will be headed.  All it takes is vision and the new President has plenty of that.  President Obama’s election is almost like Neil Armstrong walking on the moon in my eyes.  The things we can do and the places we can go.  President Obama makes it all seem possible.  Of course after Bush (with his ever present Bible) all things seem possible.

Spotlight: Tis the Season…for Cutting Girls

December 7, 2008

Every now and again I meet such wonderful bloggers and get their permission to share their thoughts on my site.  I bring you Austin Texas Lady who has so much compassion and an in your face approach to the human factor.  Please enjoy her excellent point of view (block quote turned off to conserve space):

**************

Tis the Season…for Cutting Girls

This is not a joyful time of year for girls in Kenya. It’s the cutting season.  Girls 10 years old or younger have their clitoris and sometimes their labia removed so they will be “clean” and to prepare them for marriage. This process is called Female Genital Cutting (FGC) or Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

This barbaric practice, considered a human rights violation by the United Nations, is done to girls as young as two years old with no anesthesia and a razor blade, knife, or even broken glass. Besides the initial severe pain, girls often experience lifelong problems and effects such as shock, excessive bleeding, infection, infertility, higher death rate for newborn babies, and even death.

The World Health Organization estimates that 100 – 140 million women and girls have experienced FGC. 2-3 million more are at risk every year, mostly in 28 countries in Africa, some Middle Eastern countries, some ethnic groups in South America, and Indonesia. FGC is a long-practiced custom and it is difficult to convince women to stop having it done to their daughters or granddaughters. In places where it is common, girls who are not cut are often ostracized.

The country where FGM is most prevalent is Egypt, with 78-97% having experienced it, followed by Sudan, Ethiopia, and Mali. Egypt passed a law banning FGM in 2007, as have many other countries. The U.S. passed a federal law banning FGM in 1996.

February 6, 2008 marked the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) fifth International Day against Female Genital Mutilation.  The UN has launched a multi-million dollar program to reduce the practice by 40% over the next seven years.

This video features some village women in Lunsar, Sierra Leone talking about the practice of cutting. Amongst their many startling (to our way of thinking) assertions is that if a girl bleeds excessively from being cut, it means that she is a witch.

Many girls in Kenya have recently fled to churches or rescue centers to wait out the November to December cutting season and escape forced genital mutilation. At this time of joy and celebration, if you’d like to do something to help protect the rights of these girls and women all over the world, consider making a donation to Americans for UNFPA.

Last Post of the Night: Obama Victory Celebration Song Called “A Real Man”

November 12, 2008

Hey this is a song I can listen to and then go to sleep with a smile.  I like it.  It’s hot and its for the President I’m starting to believe that I can trust (cautiously) for the first time.   This man really makes hope become a living entity, and the awesomeness of it makes my heart soar with joy.

Obama pitches self in new ad; McCain hits tax plan

October 25, 2008

Now this is the way to close the deal. Obama spends his time giving us a reason to hope and vote. Where’s John? Out on the stump demonizing Obama of course.   McCain does not have time to deal with the issues, except to say he’ll fix it!  McCain got to make sure we understand that Obama pals around with terrorist and is a socialist too.  That’s way more important than our issues, you betcha it is.

Obama Music Video-Something About The Man/Yes We Can

October 12, 2008

Okay, this is my last music video for the night. I also like this one. But I think everyone knows where I stand. I’m an Obama woman and only want him to win to once again bring America back to the glory that we are about. Really don’t care about the haters. In my world they are losers clinging to old passions that have no place in the 21st century. Yes I’m black but this have nothing to do with race. Don’t believe me, go ask a white friend who supports Obama. Stop being stupid and wake up to recovery.

Barack Obama Music Video – Hope Changes Everything

October 12, 2008

More pre-posted  music. I’m sleep at this point and suspect the music will get missed anyway.  What do you people care about hope?  No most of the time I get right wingnuts who want to tell me what I need to check out.  Most of the comments (with the exception of the true progressive people who are not to the left loving people) is always some negative crap.

I do not believe for one minute that this man, Obama, thought that it would be easy. Oh hell no. He has black skin and I’m sure in his 47 years he has seen the hatred. But you know what, nevertheless, he rose to the occasion to fight for what is right. Not just for black people but for all people. I give that nerve two thumbs up.

Change The World!..Barack Obama!

October 11, 2008

I found this song on YouTube and thought it was hot. I know it’s going to take a lot of people a long time to understand, but this is not about race or associations. THIS IS ABOUT CHANGE! Sorry McCain lovers but with his strong ties to Bush for so damn long he has no change that can be seen. Message to the haters.  All the road blocks the haters want to throw up in the face of reality of what is really going on is not going to work.

People are tired after 8 years of hell and an economy to prove it was hell. Believe it or not, but some of us don’t have time to cling to anything but reality and name calling or race baiting is not an answer to our serious problems. I know a lot of people want to pretend that we live on an island and the rest of the countries do not matter, but they do.  As our economy tanks so do theirs.  Guess what, the bulk of the other countries find hope in Obama.  It is not just America that need Obama but so do other countries.  Depressing for you racist, but nothing but hope for those of us that are tired.

I must admit that never had I expected that in my generation I would ever see the likes of Robert F. Kennedy or Martin Luther King again.  Yet, here is a man that is so awesome that his presence can not be denied.  His words are beautiful and he speaks straight to the heart.  I fully understand why Ted Kennedy passed the torch on to him.  He is a shining star in the gloom of what is going on.  But whether you want to admit it or not the man commands an audience.  He does not just get a few handful of people to listen to him.  He commands thousands on thousands that come out just to hear him speak (75,000 Oregon and 200,000 in Germany to name a few).  He is calm, cool and steady as a rock.  He projects no fears and through his calm he gives others calm mixed with a hope that can not be beat.

Every time I find videos like this one, my heart soars with the hope of a real future for me and my children.  I really don’t give a damn who does not like it (I know the hate comments are coming), this is the moments when I remember that I love the hell out of my country and what, as the only real free nation in the world, we stand for, GROWTH.
