Last Post of the Night: Kid or Murder, Sharell Butler

I thought it would be a good time to check up on what’s being reported regarding the arrest and indicment of Sharell Butler.

[Sharell] who is being charged as an adult, faces a maximum sentence of 10 years to life imprisonment on each murder count, according to a release from District Attorney Robert Johnson‘s office.

Butler, of Morris Park, is being held without bail. She is to be arraigned Feb. 9 on the grand jury indictment.

Also yesterday, Johnson announced the arrest of Carlos Colon, 20, of Harlem, in connection with the two killings.

Colon allegedly took part in the Dec. 21 slaying of Hopkins-Drago, who was stabbed multiple times, and fired the shot that killed Umpierre on Dec. 19, the district attorney’s release said.

It is also being reported that a third suspect, Robert Pastore, 19, is also being charged with second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter in the death of Hopkins-Drago.

Finally it was mentioned that in a brief court appearance it was announced by Butler’s lawyer that she would not be testifying in front of the grand jury.

Absent still was any information that showed how Sharell Butler was linked to the murders or the linkage to the others that are being accused.  As noted in my first post there is still a lack of any information being provided to substantiate how any of the accused or involved in the crime.

Since I have my eye on this case, I will continue to provide weekly updates.  Althought at this rate it might be a post saying no new information has been provided.

SHOCKER: John Bolton Would Invade Iran Now!

Here’s a shocker.   JOHN BOLTON would attack Iran now. Why do we have to keep listening to this warmonger?  Oh, right he’s on Fox Fake News. Who else would give cause for America to enter a third war without taking into account America’s lack of money (economic meltdown) and troops (serious shortage) that is currently going on?

That’s right this is America, let’s just keep fighting everyone we don’t like.  There’s no need for diplomacy.  Let’s just pretend we can storm troop into Iran and fight them and take control.  Did I say Iran or did I mean Iraq?

Hm…I think I’ve seen this story played out before and it didn’t work out too well.   Now that Israel is considering a cease fire where do we go from here? Do we make some bogus CIA report, lying about Iran’s capabilities, take it to congress and the UN and declare war on Iran?  Then look back 5 years from now after 10 or 20 thousands Americans has been killed along with millions of innocent citizens to confront the fact that the war was a lie?

John Bolton’s kind of stupid needs to be stopped.  It is getting tiresome to listen to people living in bubbles.  Can somebody just get a pin and be done with this nonsense?

A Kid or a Murderer?

This story caught my attention because of the person’s age and the brutality of the crime.  It’s being reported that a 15 year old, Sharell Butler of the Bronx, NY, is being held and charged for 2 separate murders.

A 15-year-old girl has been arrested in the stabbing of a man whose dismembered body was found stuffed in a garbage bag in the Bronx – and in a second unrelated murder.

Baby-faced Sharell Butler, known by pals as “Lady Red,” was charged with murder, manslaughter and assault in the death of John Hopkins Drago, the adopted Russian son of a Bronx family.

Butler, of the Bronx, was also charged with second-degree murder and robbery in a Dec. 19 home invasion that led to the fatal shooting of a Throgs Neck man whom she and another suspect had intended to rob. [Read the full article here]

Of course we must operate under the premise of innocent until proven guilty, but if any of it is true, how depraved.  Her father is claiming she is innocent.  Most parents do make that claim.

The news is reporting that Sharell is known as Lady Red on the street and is apart of the notorious gang known as the Bloods.  Where that information came from is not being reported.  Of course being objective I can not put too much faith in unsubstantiated speculation.  The people in her neighborhood do not believe she could have committed those crimes.

Residents of Butler’s apartment building in Morris Park were stunned at the news that the seemingly friendly teenager was responsible for two cold-blooded murders.

“She’s a good kid,” said one woman who refused to give her name. “I don’t think she could do that.”

“She plays with my grandkids,” the woman said. “She’s like my granddaughter.”

Of course no one really knows what another person is capable of until after something has happened and is proved.  Equally, since I live in New York, our police force is known for locking innocent people up based off of part laziness, sloppiness and a certain amount of bias towards a particular race.

I will be watching this story for its shock value alone.  I am fully aware that a 15 year old can commit some of the most hideous crimes absence any remorse, but until there is more substantiated information given by our police department on how this young lady is connected, I think I’ll stay with being undecided for now.
