Last Post of the Night: Closing on Two Subjects

February 5, 2009

I am going to call it a night (since I must go to work in the morning) discussing the quackery of the republicans and the media over the stimulus bill, and something I read earlier that compared President Bush sitting in a chair reading to second graders and President Obama reading to second graders.

First let me deal with the stimulus.  It is, once again, becoming embarrassing that we Americans are being portrayed as stupid.  Our new president has had the foresight to create a stimulus that covers both the short term and the long term.  Yet, we have allowed the media to voice every weak ass opposition from the republican party to an extent that the only words associated withthe stimulus bill is pork, wastful and garbage.  The media has created and promoted the acceptability of the republican –who were the ones that destroyed our economy with their trickle down non regulated nonsense – party’s premise that there is something wrong with the stimulus and that thought have infiltrated our every breath even though it is nothing more than republican regurgitated bullshit.  My question is simple… how long must we go along with this nonsense?  Until another 2 million people have lost their jobs?  Until every middle class home owner is in foreclosure?  Or, until people start dying?  When do we tell the republicans to just shut the fuck up?

The republican party have their idiot sheep (formerly known as their base) that want to continue championing the cause of stupid (since they are stupid) and they turned to the conservative owned media with their very not-really-liberal reporters to tell the American people day in and day out religiously how flawed the stimulus bill is.  Of course it doesn’t bother most of the sheep that the republicans are only arguing over less than a percent of the stimulus.  Either they are completely ignorant or so filled with bitterness they can’t recognized that they are being scammed.  It makes perfect sense to the sheep for America to stay in the toilet, after all the great one, Rush Limbaugh, told them so.  So what if the government didn’t do anything for them during a hurricane, flood, tornado, or any other natural disaster, they are sheep and proud of it.

It is, in a way, a public relations coup that the stimulus has been boiled down to, as one Hill Democrat puts it, “funding for the arts, funding for the mall, and funding to fight AIDS.” Those aspects of the legislation, as the White House points out, constitute a mere 7/100th of one percent of the entire package. Moreover, the size of the legislation is not even the most pertinent topic of debate. For many economists, the issue isn’t whether the stimulus is too large, but whether it goes far enough in producing a new economic structure instead of patching up the old one.

Critics of the recovery bill have also earned their stripes by arguing that the stimulus, by sending money to many different places, won’t be stimulative. The legislation’s authors respond that many parts of the plan serve a dual purpose: to spur the creation or retention of jobs while setting the stage for more durable markets.

As you can surmise, I have a serious problem with this current trend of adopting stupid (republican ideology) as the way to go.  After 8 years of doing nothing, I am in strong opposition of us continuing to do nothing.  Less government my ass.  After 8 years of no government — a mantra the republican party is damn proud of – and the American people being in the toilet for that ideology, I have a seriously low tolerance for listening to anyone suggesting that less government is the way to go.  I find nothing wrong with the government helping to erase the mess that a previous fucked up government created.  As a proud American, it is the height of stupidity to note that we have groups and organization that will reach out to save cockroaches, but on the other hand have groups and organization that will balk at saving another human being.  It is quite ironic that if the government dare reach out and help its people it is immediately considered to be socialism.  How utterly stupid in concept and intelligence.  Where is the logic in saying you want to save an unborn fetus, but when it comes to giving health care to the already born you will fight such a concept tooth and nail? It gives such meaning to our humanitarian efforts to know that we will send money to help the poor of another country while pissing on our own poor with every excuse we can dig up.

The whole concept of the republican party is dead and it is their sheep that they play their sick song to.  They need someone, any fucking body, to help champion their cause of we love you but its about big business only (under the guise of free market and capitalism).  I can understand the yahoos (goodness knows their bigotry and racism has blinded them), but what about the rest of us?  There are so many key committees that we can get involved with to help push the stimulus through.  Here are just a few.  But there are so many more.  We do not have to stand for this shit just because the non-bias (non liberal) media are trying to tell us, with their counterpart the republicans, what to do.

The Democratic beast have been released in other ways.  Its not so much that all of are extremist, but we are in love with our country and right is right and wrong is very much wrong.  We want justice and a sense of fairness for paying our taxes and living by the rules.  The shit the republicans are currently perpetrating have not one thing to do with fair or justice (only big business — fuck that).

My other subject of choice is due to what I can only surmise is the media’s way of trying to assist President Bush rewrite his legacy.  How…HOW can any one compare Bush sitting in a chair reading to second graders a book about goats while New York was being attacked to President Obama reading to second graders while not a fucking thing was happening, but Daschel bowing out of being the Health Czar.  Such comparisons is beyond logic and comprehension.  There is absolutely unequivalently no fucking comparison.  I am getting sick and tired of this Bush comparison that President Obamamust go through with the conservative owned so called liberal media.  There is nothing fair or balance in that comparison.  It is pure bullshit.  I live in New York and the two don’t even come fucking close.  When Bush was sitting on his, I don’t know what the fuck to do ass, I watched my world being destroyed.  When President Obama was sitting on his ass, not ONE REAL TERRORIST ATTACK was taking place.  So my question to this nonsense is simply WTF?  Are we really going to allow the conservatively owned non liberal media to call the shots on our common sense and intelligence?

I think MSNBC just compared President and Mrs. Obama’svisit with second graders yesterday to My Pet Goatand 9/11. But I’m not 100 percent certain. At around 9:20 a.m. eastern, Tamron Hall threw to Contessa Brewer who said:

CONTESSA BREWER: Tamron, this was something of a flashback for many of us. As his nominee for Health Secretary was going down, the first couple paid a surprise visit to a DC charter school to read a book to children. It was a trip that was planned, but not announced. After the book, the president took questions from boys and girls who are the same age as his daughter, seven-year-old Sasha. You make the call, but I’m pretty sure Brewer compared the event yesterday to My Pet Goat.

UPDATE:Maureen Dowd did it too. Eric Boehlert quotes Dowd:

On 9/11, President Bush learned of disaster while reading “The Pet Goat” to grade-school kids. On Tuesday, President Obama escaped from disaster by reading “The Moon Over Star” to grade-school kids.Sweet merciful crap. So Tom Daschle withdrawing his nomination for HHS is like a terrorist attack in which 3,000 people were killed. And President Obama reading to school children while Daschle withdraws is just like Bush’s frozen state of torpor while Americans were dying in New York.

Very serious! I’m so glad the New York Times and MSNBC are in the tank for Obama.

I don’t fucking think so.  The media is currently operating on the premise that we are center right.  I don’t think so.  If such was the case McCain and empty headed Palin would be who we were talking about.  Just like the republicans will find out when its time for a vote again that the American people are not so forgiven; especially to a group that think they can step all over us to support their nonproductive agenda.  As I so boldly stated a few days ago, the time is growing closer for pink slips to be given out.  We must remove the cancer we call our republican lawmakers, senators and congress and show them what the hell we are made of, and it isn’t center-right.

It is pathetic and pitiful to note that the so called liberal media gave Bush, who completely destroyed our world, a pass.  But now dare to say that they will be more critical where President Obama is concerned.  Translated that means that every non impactful moment of President Obama’s life will be critiqued.  Please.  Media don’t play concerned citizen now; especially if what you are reporting is in the category of bull shit.

Kristol: GOP should oppose stimulus to prepare for health care fight

February 5, 2009

I just love it when the non-Washington ass holes speaks their minds. Don’t you? While they have their idiot sheep that lives on listening to their quackery following and trusting them blindly, the rest of us normal citizens have to say WTF?

Really, why is it that to be a republican now days you must give up all common sense, intelligence and your own standard of living (exception to bigots and racist who are just completely ignorant and stupid)?

That’s right, republicans, let’s fight the stimulus to avoid health care. You know that thing we all fucking need. Let’s keep it a burden for the middle and poor class.  I am so loving the GOP’s new trade mark. Nothing says fuck you America people (the bulk of us) like they do.

First it was fight the stimulus it to make a stance, then it was fight it to stop job creation, now it’s lets stop it to avoid dealing with saving those stupid fucking American lives.   Only in America can bullshit be passed off as ideology and freedom of speech.

Its Not Even The Morning…But By God Morning Joe is Filled with Madness

February 3, 2009

I know freedom of speech is key in our country; but, why is it the only speech I hear so freely is some right wing nut bull shit?  As can be expected when the wing nut native speaks we are all forced to listen.  The new agenda for the GOP fruit loops is to put the working poor out of the mix in receiving any tax benefits.   After all Joe  Scarborough himself said the Republicans would not support giving tax breaks to the working poor.

How many times have we heard that President Obama is giving money to those that are not paying taxes?  The truth is simple.  It is not that these people are not paying taxes it’s that they make such low wages that very little is paid to Income taxe.  Pretty much close to 100% of these people work over 60 to 80 hours a week just to make that small amount.  Let’s face it folks none of us would want to be making minimum wage in our current economic climate.

The Republican party does what it knows best and uses key phrases to rile their idiot base.  They like to use terms like socialism, welfare, liberalism and nationalization to give their groupies a sense that they are being used or cheated by the government.  As I’ve stated in previous post, truth and reality are not a necessity when republicans speak.

It’s okay to keep the corporate welfare, currently called the TARP, going for banks, housing and insurance companies.  It’s okay to keep spending money to maintain GITMO, and its damn well okay to spend American dollars to rebuild and improve Iraq.  Nope, no complaints coming from the republicans camp over those expenditures.  Why should they complaint about that when they have Americans to crush?  How dare the working poor have expectation of a tax cut.  Never mind the new president said that’s what he would do, the republicans knows what’s best.  Their idiot base may pretend someone else destroyed our economy (know doubt they will soon be calling it President Obama’s economy), but I am not so forgiving.  I know how we went down the toilet.  Their idiot base can continue to blame Nancy, Dodds, Reid and Barney all they like; there was only one jerk running the government when we took the dive into the abyss, he’s name is Bush and not one of the house or senate republicans tried to stop him.  In fact they only tried to aid him.

As can be seen below, Joe and Mika, of Morning Joe, stays within the GOP talking points and do what the republicans do best, paint a picture even if it is bullshit.  After all, its the republicans job to destroy the American people (especially if you live in the middle or poor class) while they make sure America’s major corporations keeps rolling in  welfare dough (can we say corporate tax cuts anyone?).

David Dukes Raises Hell!

February 3, 2009

david-dumb-ass-dukesNow who would have guessed that the KKK branch of the GOP would find objection with Michael Steele?  Why?  Steele is preaching the standard “we will not change,” message.  He is giving the usual “us against them” message.  For the life of me, I can’t figure out why David Dukes would say this:

To Hell with the Republican Party!

GOP traitors appoint Obama Junior as Chairman of the Republican Party
I am glad these traitorous leaders of the Republican Party appointed this Black racist, affirmative action advocate to the head of the Republican party because this will lead to a huge revolt among the Republican base. As a former Republican official, I can tell you that millions of rank-and-file Republicans are mad as hell and aren’t going to take it anymore! We will either take the Republican Party back over the next four years or we will say, “To Hell With the Republican Party!” And we will take 90 percent of Republicans with us into a New Party that will take its current place!
I think the insanity of nominating “Mr. Amnesty” John McCain and now this Black racist – will lead to insurgency in the Republican ranks, and a lot of dissidents getting elected in Republican Party primaries around the country. This will result over the next four years a real move by millions of Republicans to take the party back to the populist issues that are not only right but can win for the Republican Party. We must end affirmative action, protect our gun rights and all our constitutional rights, have a moratorium on immigration, we must have protectionism, yes I said protect American businesses and their workers from NAFTA and GATT and the lie of free trade, and we must have America First, not foreign interventionism. Our boys should be home protecting the American borders a not being murdered on the borders of Iraq or Afghanistan. The time as come for Republican Party to stand up to Obama and defend American heritage, rights, and freedom!

…Let’s make this abomination in the Republican Party, the last major party of White redoubt, as a rallying cry of resistance!

(h/t Pam’s House Blend)

Now what’s the GOP to do?  How will they reign in their racist sector?  Considering all the time and effort that Palin/McCain put in cultivating this group of misfits it doesn’t seem right that the GOP would abandon them so quickly.  I can only surmise that while the house and senate GOP are playing stimulus games they are not paying attention to the fact that the natives have become completely restless and are bordering on a rampage.

Well here’s a non-shocker…

January 10, 2009

scientistNow it can be not be shocking that a bunch of scientists came out to announce that the FDA is corrupt, mismanaged, wrong, twisted, F-up, etc. in a letter to our new president.  The FDA is the same agency that has decided they can not find whether its a contaminated tomatoes or a pepper that had caused our country’s ills.  They are the same ones that have decided mercury is now good.  They are, finally, the same ones that claim that a little poison is not a bad thing in baby formula.

In an unusually blunt letter, a group of federal scientists is complaining to the Obama transition team of widespread managerial misconduct in a division of the Food and Drug Administration.

“The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the scientific review process for medical devices at the FDA has been corrupted and distorted by current FDA managers, thereby placing the American people at risk,” said the letter, dated Wednesday and written on the agency’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health letterhead.

The center is responsible for medical devices ranging from stents and breast implants to MRIs and other imaging machinery. The concerns of the nine scientists who wrote to the transition team echo some of the complaints from the FDA’s drug review division a few years ago during the safety debacle involving the painkiller Vioxx.

The FDA declined to publicly respond to the letter, but said it is working to address the concerns.

In their letter the FDA dissidents alleged that agency managers use intimidation to squelch scientific debate, leading to the approval of medical devices whose effectiveness is questionable and which may not be entirely safe.

“Managers with incompatible, discordant and irrelevant scientific and clinical expertise in devices…have ignored serious safety and effectiveness concerns of FDA experts,” the letter said. “Managers have ordered, intimidated and coerced FDA experts to modify scientific evaluations, conclusions and recommendations in violation of the laws, rules and regulations, and to accept clinical and technical data that is not scientifically valid.”

Thank goodness we now have a president that listens to the scientific community vs a president that never really understood the bible but swore by it, ugh.

Harry Reid Says War in Iraq Is Still Lost

January 5, 2009

I’m starting to think David Gregory, outside of being utterly boring, is on a GOP attack. Why do we have to keep pretending that the war in Iraq have any value? Why do we have to pretend anything that was done in that war had any value? What part of a needless war is not being comprehended?

I am so sick of the media portraying the war like its some sort of accomplishment.  Just because the Bush administration has changed the story on why we are there 3 times does not change the irrefutable fact that we invaded Iraq for no reason. By default of an unwarranted invasion is the war in Iraq already lost.

Coal Company in Australia Needed to Let Me Know…

January 2, 2009

Some organizations have no shame what so ever. This is not a joke or made up story.  I posted about the coal industry spilling 5.2 millions tons of coal in TN and the effects such spillage would cause and I got a reply from the damn Coal Industry in Australia.   See it here since I approved it just to show I’m not crazy.

They are pushing how clean coal will help us. That point is still debatable since currently we have no clean coal.  But the audacity to attach that message to a post about an environmental disaster?  What the hell were they thinking?  This is like when AIG contacted me about a post they didn’t appreciate.

Who the hell is working in these people’s marketing/IT departments?  Do they shoot up their drugs, smoke them or just snort them?  Crazy has a name and it’s now known as big business.

Wait…What? Gonzales is writing what?

January 1, 2009

Okay world brace your self.  Alberto Gonzales is writing his memoirs?  I find that supposition quite impossible.  This is the same man (see video below) that could not recall anything.  That being the case, what the hell is he writing?  I thought we brought books that had pages (plural), and not just a page?

Barack The Magic Negro Will Offend “SOME” People!

January 1, 2009

The leader of the moral majority, Bill Fu_ked-Up-O-Reilly, has spoken. I just love how he has two black hm…pundits even though one was a complete idiot to show how irrelevant it is to call a Black person the magic negro.

Keep in mind the word was first published by a Black writer from the NYT.  Of course Bill the azz-hole Kristol comes from the NYT as well.  And, also, of course the problem is not that the fat pig of a racist Rush Limbaugh introduced the song on his radio show.

No, the only argument is that a RNC member sent it out as a Christmas gift. Saltsman, the politician who sent out the CD, is showing me just how inclusive the republican party is towards people of color. I guess we are all magic negros.

In fact I plan on naming one of my children “whitey is an ass hole” just to show I too feel that that the term magic negro is being taken way out of proportion.  I also am looking forward to releasing my own parody song entitled “Whitey was a slave owning rapist bastard.”  I think it has the potential of hitting number 1 on the chart of completely stupid and racist, right along with the Barack Magic Negro.

Gordon Johndroe on Bush’s plans to deal with Middle East crisis

December 30, 2008

Its good to know that our tax dollars are at work where Bush is concerned. While Israel and Hamas is in the middle of a very destructive heated war over control, Bush will be riding his bike and continuing on his vacation.

Yet, I have to listen to the news tell me how President Obama keeps saying there is only one president at a time and do so as a cop out?

Is it possible to get a refund? I want every nickle that I gave, via my taxes, from Bush for a job not done at all and continue to be not done.

Reporter: Mr President-Elect, Gordon Brown has called for a ceasefire and access for aid to Gaza. Do you agree the Israelis should now cease their assault?

O: Prime Minister Brown has my greatest respect, he’s a strong friend and ally. However, the US only has one President at a time so I can only urge you to ask President Bush that question.

See how it would work? That would put the focus of the American media back on Bush, who has refused to cut short his final vacation to help deal with the crisis. [Read the full post here]

It wouldn’t be funny if someone called me ‘Tamron Hall the magic negro anchor lady.’

December 30, 2008

For once the News has their eye on the ball.

Sorry Kate Obenshain but you are so full of sh#t with your assessment. The song, Magic Negro, was created by a conservative and played by a racist conservative.  The fact that the words ‘Magic Negro’ appeared in an article is almost beside the point.  That’s like saying because I saw a movie where some one committed murder and then went out and killed someone it’s the movie’s fault.

To pretend that the song was created to talk about an absurdity in regards to saying President Obama was not black enough is the height of stupidity. Rush Limbaugh, since I have no intention of defending his loud racist azz, plays that song to vent and promote his racist position.

I will give Obenshain credit though. She was right when she said we did not need our politicians dealing in such petty nonsense and that they should be out their articulating a clear message.

In it to win it or just in it to make noise?

December 27, 2008

As every day go by I find it amazing that the GOP is still peddling nonsense.  What part of we are in the middle of a horrible recession is not penetrating?  Right now life is being broken down into its simplest terms.

The GOP is either with the American people or against us.  That whole campaign of destroy the American workers just to kill the unions was a disaster, but yet the GOP still persist in being the outsider.   What strikes me as utterly pathetic is that the GOPs name calling game did not work for the general election but it should work now?

I have to endure the daily doses of BS about the Blago taint being transferred to president Obama.  Really?  Why?  Because the GOP says so?  I’m sure you have the wing nut tribe right where you want them.  Living in the paradise called la la land.  What about the rest of us?  You know the 82% that favor president Obama.

Do you really think we have not had enough of perpetual hate, lies, misinformation, false values, and divisiveness?  Take a look at where we are.  There’s just no room for BS any longer.

Meantime in the real world your chosen one, Bush has been nothing if not deceptive and a liar to boot.  There was and is nothing transparent about his leadership (look at the banking bailout if you need a clue) and you dare to mention President Obama not being transparent?  Or you people kidding me with that crap?  My goodness, you people practically keep a scope up his rear side as you followed his every move.  Now, I’m suppose to believe you missed the whole Blago relationship?  Please, go hit up the wing nut tribe that eat that crap for breakfast, lunch and dinner while they mindlessly believe any lie you might utter.

Perhaps you people haven’t noticed but we have an, hm…crisis going on which really leaves no room for your stupid nonsense.

Enough said.

American Values Just Keep Getting Stronger

December 27, 2008

chip-saltsman-largeI’ve already written that conservative  values at best is insulting to people with real values, now I have to note that their values are also laughable.

I can only laugh at this latest sign of conservative values as I read about the RNC candidate who distributed a CD with a song on it called “Barack the Magic Negro.”  Of course I will note that the candidate, Chip Saltsman — the prick, says he sent the CD out as a parody (I’m still laughing hope you are too).

The CD included other lovely songs such as  “John Edwards’ Poverty Tour,” “Wright place, wrong pastor,” “Love Client #9,” “Ivory and Ebony” and “The Star Spanglish banner.” The title of the CD is  “We Hate the USA,” which is nothing more than a bunch of songs  of satire against liberals.  It should also be noted that the CD came from the likes of Rush Limbaugh (there goes some more of those American values).

The song, which debuted on Limbaugh’s show in late March 2007, latches onto an opinion column in the Los Angeles Times of the same title. That column, penned by cultural critic David Ehrenstein, argued that Obama could serve as a balm to whites who felt guilty about past treatment of African Americans.

Since this is all a parody, I’m right now writing up the lyrics to my new song called “Whitey kept beating his slaves.”  Don’t worry folks it’s just a parody.

Enough said.

UPDATE:  Here’s the video of the song (t/h Online Timepass)

UPDATE 2: This is Peter Yarrow response:

The sending of a Christmas greeting by Chip Saltsman to the members of the Republican National Committee that includes a recording of the so-called parody, “Barack the Magic Negro” is not only offensive, it is shocking and saddening in the extreme. It flies in the face of America’s deeply held hope for a new era in which common ground and mutual respect characterize the exchanges between our national leaders.

I and my co-writer of “Puff,” Lenny Lipton, have been eagerly awaiting an end to the mean-spiritedness, outright disrespect and bigotry that was commonplace prior to this last presidential election. What might have been wearily accepted as “the way it was” in the campaign, is now unacceptable. Obama is not a candidate. He is the President-Elect, and this song insults the office of the Presidency, the people who voted for him, as well as those who did not — and taking a children’s song and twisting it in such vulgar, mean-spirited way, is a slur to our entire country and our common agreement to move beyond racism.

UPDATE 3:  Now Huckabee is making excuses for Chip Saltsman:

Chip should have been more careful in his selection of Christmas gifts, but no one who knows him would ever suggest that he in any way would purposely disparage other people. Chip knows how sensitive such issues are. It shouldn’t be the main factor in the RNC race.

I’m glad to know that Huckabee knows that Saltsman is not that type of person.  Now my relief is complete.  It would have been great if Saltsman had used that type of reasoning before giving out CDs which supposedly flys in the face of the type of person he really is.

Please.  What is this…rhetoric for the good old boys club?  We’re really reacist but will pretend we’re not?

From the moment Saltsman’s stated he wasted time listening to Rush Limbaugh his faith was signed, sealed and his identity known for the racist he so obviously is.

I know we owe China a lot of money but…

December 26, 2008

melamine-china-thumb-230xautoHave we already consigned our country as second class?  What’s up with the FDA?  Why is toxin food and products being allowed into America from China?  The FDA just finished reporting, not too long back, that baby products with toxic melamine is acceptable?  WTF?

The FDA is really smacking home runs out of the ball park with their new attitude.  They also declared mercury in fish is fine for babies, pregnant women and children?  Why?  You can read about that absurdity at The Internet Post by Tom here.

I digress, that’s another story.  It is currently being reported by the LAT that there is a possibility that melamine is also in the fish products being imported from China.

Reporting from Los Angeles and Shanghai — Melamine in Chinese-produced milk powder has sickened hundreds of thousands of children and added to a growing list of made-in-China foods banned across the globe. Now, some scientists and consumer advocates are raising concerns that fish from China may also be contaminated with the industrial chemical.

China is the world’s largest producer of farm-raised seafood, exporting billions of dollars worth of shrimp, catfish, tilapia, salmon and other fish. The U.S. imported about $2 billion of seafood products from China in 2007, almost double the volume of four years earlier, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

So just how much kissing of China’s behind is required by our country?  There use to be a time in America’s history that we cared about our people and really could say this was the home of the brave and free.  Not anymore if we have a government that is willing to allow any toxin into our country at the risk of our people.

My only question is when does this nonsense end (maybe Jan. 20, 2009)?  Fools like Cheney, Rove and Bush think we really want to hear a damn thing they have to say about anything?  There is no rewriting this administrations legacy.  The problems are too deep and the horror of the abuse of people and power supersedes anything we have ever seen before.

Enough said.

TVA Coal Ash Spill Dec 22 2008

December 24, 2008

Now all day yesterday and today I listened to the water main break in Maryland that happened on Tuesday via the news. Granted that was a scary proposition and highlighted the weakness of our infrastructure.

Yet I am miffed to find out that after 2.6 million cubic yards of toxic coal sludge broke through a dike and ruined homes and 400 acres in Tennessee the story got no air time what so ever and this incident happened on Monday.  I think we have a right to know when an environmental disaster has taken place in our own damn country. No?

Toxic Sludge Got Into Tributary of Chattanooga Water Supply
Apart from the immediate physical damage, the issue is what toxic substances are in that sludge: Mercury, arsenic, lead, beryllium, cadmium. Though officials said the amounts of these poisons in the sludge could not be determined on Monday, they could (at the mild end) irritate skin or trigger allergies or (longer term) cause cancer or neurological problems.

This toxic sludge got into the Emory River, a tributary of the Clinch and Tennessee Rivers: The water supply for Chattanooga, Tennessee as well as millions of people living downstream in Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky. TVA says that as yet the spill (which they are characterizing as a mudslide or landslide, but frankly it’s still toxic…) has not affected the water quality in the Emory River.

I can’t speak for other states but this was not a story that got any kind of play in New York and I can only wonder why the media blackout?  This is a environmental disaster of epic proportion and will no doubt have impact for decades.  Not to mention all the million of people that are getting ready to suffer through all kinds of fake assurance until they start popping up with all types of cancer and/or neurological problems as well as dying.

Today’s media topic was Obama’s non-scandal scandal, water main break in Maryland and deicing malfunction at the Seattle Airport, which was the breaking news of the day.  Those topics played over and over on the cable news networks.  No wonder we barely know anything.  We barely get news reported.

Bush Pushes Midnight Regulations, Many To Last

December 24, 2008

I thought now would be a good time for some real news; especially since it just keeps getting overlooked by our more visible news reporters.

What Bush is doing is dangerous and ethically wrong.  That fact that he is telling the American people F-you is bad enough but to know this activity is getting no play by the media is even worst.

Barney Frank vs Eric Cantor on the Auto Bailout

December 23, 2008

Now don’t get me wrong, but I am having a hard time comprehending the constant protest of the GOP regarding the auto industry bailout. It would not be as disturbing had they chose to address the astronomical paychecks the CEOs are receiving. The average worker makes approximately $30 hours and the CEO is making $15.2 million a year (that does not include any bonuses which run in the millions).  Lets do the math.  The CEO’s salary is the equivalent of 251 workers salaries. Where is Cantor’s rage over this abuse of over payment?  Doesn’t he think there is a need to adjust a lot of our CEOs salaries?

This is why I fine some republicans full of crap and disingenuous at best.

This constant attack on the American workers is becoming tiresome and subject to suspicion.  I’m sure concession needs to be made, but I think the changes should be more inclusive of all parties at the table and not just on the workers.

December 22, 2008

Earlier last week I wrote a post regarding gun control. This is what prompted me to write that post.  The NRA is forever pushing the idea that President Obama has a hidden agenda regarding gun control which is no more than a marketing ploy considering no such agenda exist, I propose more people buy guns and level the playing field against racism.

The outcome of the bigotry and racism in our country led a group of people in New Orleans to kill 11 innocent people (which the exact figure is not really known and could be higher) under the guise of protecting their property during Katrina.  My only goal was that the victims might need to start leveling the playing field and give those that victimize a run for their money.

That this is another chapter in the sad representation of the American people and their propensity towards hate is as sad as it is appalling. This was not a real group of people protecting their property. This was the KKK in action doing what they have missed doing for quite some time, killing people just because…______ (fill in the blank).

As I always feel, nothing shows the truth like a video.  The fact that the truth surrounding Katrina was bad enough, now its compounded by the citizens being as dumb as president Bush.

I am neither shocked or surprise that Louisiana’s broken law enforcement agencies are refusing to investigate the crimes.  After all its not like it was OJ Simpson robbing people to get his own property back and we could use that criminal act to make him pay for a previous crime.  This was serious red necks exercising their rights as citizens.  Thank goodness for the “Color Of Change Organization.”  They are pressing the issue that Gov. Jindal investigate these allegations and are promoting a campaign to bring this situation to the state and federal governments attention.  If you click on the link you too can add your voice.

Huckabee: Its ridiculous for people to be upset at Rick Warren

December 22, 2008

Now Fox News has got to be kidding me with this Sh#t.  Huckabee as the voice of reason?  Please.  What was the expectation that Huckabee would find one damn thing wrong with Rick Warren being selected to give the invocation?  This is not even a pathetic attempt of showing an unbiased view point.  This is no view point what so ever.

I may swallow part of my rage towards President Obama and wait to see what he is trying to do; but, I am not even going to pretend that Huckabee has a shred of objectivity to be speaking on this sensitive subject.

Rick Warren is the typical bigoted racist that the wing nut tribe usually consist of and Huckabee, with his lack of wisdom, can not change my opinion while his own association with the wing nut tribe is well known.

Damn, this is way too much kool-aid dipping for the more rational thinking.
