Who are you talking to?

November 10, 2008

good-guy-meet-ask-holeAre you conservatives really talking to me?  I don’t know how to say it more bluntly than my guy won and yours lost.  You want to talk to me about the nation still holding conservative values?  Obviously not enough to even squeak your guy by or his politically challenged side kick.  Get over your selves.  It is done.  Enough.  Obama is the president.  I have listen to some of you who can only be described as extreme and look at some of your mostly extreme values and it makes me think of Jim Jones.  Faithful to his religious values to the end.  He had rather kill everyone then recognize that he was wrong.  Not that I believe that he was not crazy because he was, but his zest and zeal for religion is not healthy.   Don’t even start crying foul.  You can not have your fanatical religious beliefs without owning the ugly side of it as well.  Let’s face it your religious standards change for what ever reason is convenient — such as Palin’s pregnant teenage daughter.

Whether you like it or not the world, not just America alone, held it breath for Obama to win and the world and America gave a collective release of joy at the same time.  That was never in your guys future.  President Obama rebooted our status in the world that are eagerly looking forward to dealing with him over international issues.  Which in my eyes supersede you people sending me comments about President Obama wants to take over your lives.  I can only say, please you’ve already been down that road with Bush and you were very comfortable and happy to allow him to destroy our nation.  Could it be that you are afraid of some one fixing our problems that is both domestic and global?

Barack Obama speaks, and the world listens – more intently, at this point, than it does to the actual president of the United States. President-elect Obama can inspire and alarm, calm markets or add to jitters. And with the nation in economic crisis, he seems keenly aware of that.

Let’s not play games here people.  Today President Obama will be meeting with lame duck ex-president Bush.  But take note, President Obama will not be assuming any authority during Bush’s current reign.  He will not take on this mess until it is time for him to fix it.

But he [Obama] is avoiding doing anything now, either as a sitting senator or as president-elect, that would give him ownership of decisions made between now and Inauguration Day. Obama will not attend the G-20 meeting on Nov. 15, a summit of world leaders to be convened in Washington for crisis economic talks.

When the Obamas make the customary visit to the White House on Monday, for a tour with the Bushes, Obama has indicated he also expects “a substantive conversation” with the outgoing president. But the mantra of Obama’s transition is clear: There’s only one US president at a time.

Enough said.

UPDATE:  Here’s a sample of right wing thought patterns and the type of people I am talking to:

“Obama will likely become the first Muslim to be sworn in as President, on January 20, 2009, and could use the Koran for this purpose as a Congressman did”

“Obama pretends he’s not a socialist”

“Doctors from the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons have stated that Obama uses techniques of mind control in his speeches and campaign symbols.”

“I fear [this] is the guy that has these radical associations 20 years ago,” Hannity added, an odd way of demonstrating support for the new commander in chief.

“Stocks are dying, which is a precursor of things to come. This is an Obama recession. Might turn into a depression.” [I guess the housing situation, implosion of our banking system and losses in our industries had nothing to do with a depression]

  1. Sure does appear that you believe that anyone that does not care for Obama is a religious fanatic that cares more for America than other places in the world.
Most of what I have been reading in the news etc. is being pretty nice to him. Conciliatory even.

  2. I like your non-describe picture.

I am not talking to the reasonable or sane. I am talking to the silly and overly religious that send me comments. If you don’t fit the bill why are you answering? And no the right wing is currently 60 to 40% about waging war against Obama even though he has not even ascended to the white house. So far as being conciliatory, is that a joke? I only report what is going on currently. What will be in the next 1 to 2 years I can not project. But what is going on now is not so nice. There was nothing conciliatory about Hannity or Limbaugh’s words, to name a few. I am tired of narrow views and have the right to say so. In your world maybe I listen too much to what is being said by the conservatives but none the less it is being said. This is not a personal attack on reasonable people who are open and willing to debate. My words are for those that know who I mean. If you want to assume I am talking to you because you do not care for Obama (not that you said that) that is not my point.

My words are for those that are forever talking to me about hate and disgust. If you misunderstood I apologize for that but I will not take back one word of what I said.

  3. Some folk only read and hear want they want to read and hear so they can ignor that hate, bigotry and racism still is alive in the world. For those who might be irritated at the author of this sites words, if the shoe fits, wear it if not don’t whine.

  4. No need to apologize, none whatsoever. I myself do however draw a distinction between neo-cons and actual conservatives. You stated something that myself, as well as so many others have been saying for more years than I care to remember. You just use different words to reach the same conclusions. Still, “most,” but certainly not all that I am reading on the Internet as well as elsewhere seems congratulatory. Just look at the main page of WordPress and you will understand what I am saying.
