I’m with the NYT Bush and Cheney should resign

November 23, 2008

bush-and-cheney-largeJeez, can’t we catch a break already?  It is clear that Bush has no interest in being the president and the other real acting president, Cheney, has been MIA so long he’s almost a forgotten entity.  Mean time, back in reality, We’ve got real crap going on and neither of the numskulls has any intention of doing their job.  It’s time to take a page out of Ludicrous book and say, move Bit#h, get out the way.

The media who is forever cutting a politician a break, puts Bush’s inaction down to him not having a mandate.  Please, the man did not need a mandate when he removed over 90 different policies that protected us and wildlife.  I’m with the NYT.  Why can’t they both just get gone?

Thanksgiving is next week, and President Bush could make it a really special holiday by resigning.

Maybe the American people could sign a petition and have the ex-president/ex-vice president just get out.  Can we all just protest at the White House?  Not just a few thousands, but at least a few million of us?  What does it take for us to get the people we hired fired?  Not impeachment, that takes to long.  We need immediate action.

Seriously. We have an economy that’s crashing and a vacuum at the top. Bush — who is currently on a trip to Peru to meet with Asian leaders who no longer care what he thinks — hasn’t got the clout, or possibly even the energy, to do anything useful. His most recent contribution to resolving the fiscal crisis was lecturing representatives of the world’s most important economies on the glories of free-market capitalism.

What Bush is doing is a crime against the people of our proud country.  Come on.  He’s out of the country while our economy is sizzling down to nothing?  This is not about like or dislike.  This is about action versus inaction.  Bush has made it poignantly obvious that as far as the American people are concerned it’s just F-us.

Putting Barack Obama in charge immediately isn’t impossible. Dick Cheney, obviously, would have to quit as well as Bush. In fact, just to be on the safe side, the vice president ought to turn in his resignation first. (We’re desperate, but not crazy.) Then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would become president until Jan. 20. Obviously, she’d defer to her party’s incoming chief executive, and Barack Obama could begin governing.

We’ve had plenty of dark times, but it all pales in comparison to what is going on now, the complete collapse of conservative ideology.  If Bush and Cheney won’t resign then can’t we just arrest them for crimes against the people?  We’d go through a day of Congress deciding what to do next and then when they’d decide to move President Obama in the white house,  then we could all start sighing with relief.

I know this all sounds like a joke, but something needs to be done about having a president THAT HAS CURRENTLY COMMITTED HIS SELF TO DOING NOTHING in the White House.  The Melt down started in September and we are only two months along and the news just keeps getting bleaker and darker.  Why the hell should we give Bush two more months for sh#t to get even further along the road of self destruction?

Not enough said about this subject.
