Meet President Obama’s EPA Team

On Thursday, Obama will be holding a press conference to introduce his EPA team.  For the position of Head of the Department of Energy, Steven Chu.   Steven Chu is a Nobel Prize-winning physicist and is the director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California where he has been addressing the climate crisis by pushing breakthrough research in energy efficiency, solar energy, and biofuels technology.

Next up is Carol Browner who will reportedly be President Obama’s energy coordinator and has served as EPA chief for eight years under Clinton.  She will become Obama’s go-to person in the White House overseeing energy issues, an area expected to include the environment and climate matters.

Finally, Lisa Jackson, who is currently Gov. Jon Corzine’s chief of staff in New Jersey, will reportedly be Obama’s choice to head the EPA.  Here Think Progress had an interview with Gov. Corzine discussing Lisa Jackson.
