Last Post of the Night: Special report — ‘I was still holding my grandson’s hand – the rest was gone’ | World news | The Guardian

December 18, 2008

The truth is hard and harsh, but it’s got to be confronted.  Tom from The Internet Post passed this one to me and I plan to give it the respect it deserves.

What are we doing? Why have we allowed our lame duck government to make us more hated?  I do not believe we did it for the cause of giving the middle east freedom or a better lifestyles (since we know there was WMD in Iraq).  Bush did it because of his arrogance and total disregard for human life.  But in Bush’s pursuit to remake Iraq he forgot the main war.  The one were the Taliban really were located.

Are we really the country that have been advocating freedom? For the past 5 years we have been on a mission to show our dominance to a 3rd world country.  Yet,  Look at the children’s lives we have destroyed, maimed and misplaced in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Sorry, I don’t want to hear from some wing nut tribe member talking about religion. Our disrespect and disregard for human life can be traced back to the scriptures that those fools so love to quote when they want to abolished other people’s rights.

The people in Afghanistan are caught between us and the Taliban. There has got to be a better way to wage this war. Killing the innocent can not be the smartest way to go.  Maybe way back when we started the war and, if, our focus had stayed in that direction and not been diverted by Iraq we could have made a difference.

But now, we are only creating more of a mess.  Those people deserve to be able to live their lives and we should not pretend its about some one being a despot.  Can we say Zimbabwe to prove that is not a real reason.

  1. Excellent commentary my good friend, looking forward to much more together.. 🙂

  2. The Afghanis do not hate us “…because we are free.”

They hate us because we are murdering their children, their brothers, their sisters, mothers, and friends in the name of Western oil pipelines.

And this continued aerial bombardment guarantees two things, and two things only.

First, there will be one hell of a lot of “collateral damage”, i.e., killing infants, kids, women, the elderly, and the medically fragile who just want to live their lives.

Secondly, it will radicalize those left standing even further against the installed puppet government which the US is desperately attempting to prop up through the use of these airstrikes.

Stopping terrorism is so simple, US, keep your nose out of other countries with your war machines.
