Revisionists Are Still Trying…

December 29, 2008
I'd call them the 3 Stooges if doing so didn't insult the real Stooges.

I'd call them the 3 Stooges if doing so didn't insult the real Stooges.

I must commend and send my condolences to Laura Bush for the monumental effort she put forth yesterday in attempting to rewrite history for her husband, George W. Bush.  I must also extend the same sympathy to Condoleezza Rice for her efforts towards the same endeavor.  Both women gave it their best try.

The two most influential women in President George W. Bush’s White House — first lady Laura Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice — are strongly defending the president’s legacy against critics who are calling his administration one of the worst in history.

“I know it’s not, and so I don’t really feel like I need to respond to people that view it that way,” Mrs. Bush said in an interview that aired Sunday. “I think history will judge and we’ll see later.”

Rice took a similar view in a separate interview, saying that claims that the Bush administration has been one of the worst ever are “ridiculous.”

“I think generations pretty soon are going to start to thank this president for what he’s done. This generation will,” Rice said. [Read the full article here]

Of course the ridiculousness of Laura and Condoleezza believing, or pretending to believe, that somewhere in the future — many generations from now — the world will view Bush in a much softer light only makes their efforts that much more asinine.

Once Bush is looked back on, no matter the generation, the economic meltdown, the blot of GITMO, the Iraq pointless war and all the YouTube episodes of ineptitude’s committed by this administration will be revisited as well.  There will be one of two perceptions that will rule; either Bush and company will be viewed as criminals or as a joke.

…Bush, Cheney and Rice will never get credit for any future progress because of it. They need accept that the best they can hope for is to end up among history’s inept clowns instead of history’s villains. It’s not much, but it’s all they’ve got. [Read the full post here]

Enough said.

  1. Great post!! Don’t forget the pictures of Bush eating cake while people were losing their lives from Katrina.

Oh, and when asked after 9/11 what he thought about being President, he said he was having a “good time.” he said that again recently in the middle of two wars and a financial meltdown the likes of the Great Depression.

75% want him to leave, I wonder why?

  2. I guess it’s easy enoung to blame natural events on him as well but atleast you can admit that we haven’t been attacked here at home again, and please don’t hate.

  3. Super Dave,

I am not blaming “natural events,” because I know those happen. It’s just that Bush knew the levees would break and ate cake on film while people were losing their lives, their homes and everything that they ever had in life. It is a matter of fact that Bush failed in his response to Katrina. Even Laura Bush acknowledged that last Sunday.

As for not being attacked here at home. There is no evidence that Bush has prevented any attacks here. Moreover, even if he had prevented attacks here, wouldn’t that just be the minimum part of his job function? When do you get kudos for doing what you are supposed to do in the first place? So at best I guess we could say, thanks for not screwing that up as well.

  4. Catherine ; that a beautyful name. the boards that oversee those leavees are ran by democrats the govenor and the mayer of no were both democrats. those leavees were build in the 20s and 30s with steam power. how is it that it’s bush’s fault that the worst storm of the nations history happened on his watch. there is nothing more that could have been done once the leavees failed. the people that stayed were told to get out.. Nagin had a plan that was suposed to use school buses to evacuate people with. The city servants(mostly black) disobey direct orders to show up to drive the buses and they ended up ruined in ten foot of water. Statistics have proven that the lost of life was far less than claimed.
