Voting Line West Village/Manhattan

November 5, 2008

This video is going in simply to give props for my state. I must admit it was not voting as usual. Normally when I go to vote I would be in and out within 15 to 20 minutes. Not this morning. Try 1 hour and 20 minutes. I have never seen so many people at my polling site before. It was a beautiful thing.

Barack Obama is IRISH!

November 4, 2008

Now Obama is Irish (and he is partly).   I just love this.  McCain does not have this type of power.  He can not bring us together as a nation and help us to start feeling good about our selves and our country.  What an awesome sight if we can have a president that has a vested interest in the people.

Obama’s final rally

November 4, 2008

Good morning! Today is my day and I’m on my way to vote. I made my calls last night and reminded all that I could to get out and vote. I thought I would start my day listening to Obama give his last speech before the election. Let do this people.

Why Barbie?

November 4, 2008

I had my moment of zen and this thought crossed my mind.  Yes, I know I should be in bed going to sleep to get up early to vote and I will after this.

McCain did not pick Barbie because she had any real political skill.  He picked Barbie because of his jealousy.  McCain picked Barbie with the greatest wish she would be his rock star, as he felt Obama was.  Yes, Barbie is loved by the base, but only one side of the base which is made up of three parts (neocons, intellectual conservative and religious conservatives).  Barbie did her job.  She brought the religious (which is inclusive of yahoos) base to McCain’s camp.  That’s why she easily gets crowds of 5 to 10 thousands people.

But she was never the solution to McCain’s real problem.  Jealousy.  Obama is not a rock star.  He is a people magnet.  He taps into what we all are yearning for.  A Change.  Obama do not get 200,000 thousands people because we have nothing better to do but go watch a novelty act.  Hell that’s why we have TiVo.  McCain was missing the human factor and what it is that we were in need of.   We needed answers and McCain avoided answering us like the plague.

Why is McCain losing?  Please do not accuse empty headed Barbie.  She was just willing to be a pawn for her own blind ambition and I can’t fault her for that.  She is out there now on the stump repeating stupid GOP talking points with zest and zeal.  True, if she had a clue she would challenge some of the more explosive points given to her as talking points by making sure they would not back fire.  Yet, we all know that she is not a real politician.  This has nothing to do with her hanging with the elite.  She could have educated herself better.  But what the heck.  It is what it is.

McCain was jealous and looking for a way to steal Obama’s thunder.  But McCain is out of touch and never understood Obama’s appeal.  We do not worship Obama.  He is not our God or the chosen one.  He gives answers and talks in terms of bringing us together.  He is not out there on the stump assassinating McCain’s character.  He is out there only talking about turning the page and how McCain is no different than Bush.

Enough said.

THIS IS IMPORTANT. Making it Count: How to Protect Your Vote & Spot Dirty Tricks

November 4, 2008

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Here’s a little education that all voters need to know; especially since the GOP is very dirty with their voters suppression. This video can help people out in knowing their rights and what they can do to protect themselves.

Dear John

November 4, 2008

Oh yes, I can see the GOP coming out to say how these parents influenced their kids to say this; but you know what? I have an 11 year old that do not like McCain and think he is just old and do not understand the young people of today’s time.  I have an 18 year old that can’t wait to vote (who introduced me to Obama).  No I do not believe that the parents had to influence these young people.  They may not understand how the government works, but they know ugly when they see it.

SUPERBARACK

November 4, 2008

This is adorable. There is really no other way to describe this video. It is 100% over the top but the creator has mixed the points so skillfully that you’ve got to smile. SuperBarack is one of the best creations of video I’ve seen.

“We Have a Lot of Work to Do”

November 4, 2008

Here comes the video that makes me believe we can do this.   I can’t help it.  When I see us doing it as one nation, one people, one belief I can only feel my heart growing in joy.   We need Obama to be our representative and help us to erase this mess the GOP in their greed and selfishness has done to us.  I will say, even if we lose, this vote is about us.  This is not about the rich or the major corporations. This is about us Firing the losers who tried to destroy us and are currently working at trying to divide us.

Matthew Broderick: “Take the Day Off”

November 4, 2008

It’s time for a rock the vote video.   We need to do this right this time.  No believing Obama has this in the bag and staying at home.  No partying before the vote and then get wasted and miss voting. No getting lazy and making excuses.   We need to rock the vote. We need to shake up the old party and put them out of business for a little while.   Let the GOP know that destroying our country has a price to be paid and it’s called FIRE THEM.

Obama loses his toot

November 4, 2008

It was reported today that Obama’s grandmother died on Sunday after a long battle with cancer.  I just watched Obama give a rally speech in Charlotte, NC.  It was very visible to see his pain.  In fact I believe he wiped tears off his face at least twice.  You could also hear it in his voice.  He choose to continue to go on to the pre-planned rally but you could see he was hurting.

My heart goes out to Obama over his lost.  Both his mother and father are deceased and now, as well, his grandfather and grandmother on his mother side.

Not that I have any expectations of the GOP offering him any condolences.  No they will continue with smears — goodness know since getting home I have already seen 3 or 4 of their disgraceful ads.  Why don’t they just call him a Black Panther and be done with it.

Enough said.

UPDATE:  Here’s Obama sharing his pain with the world.  Yes, I felt his pain deeply.

Spotlight that is so beautiful

November 3, 2008

I have been given special permission to spotlight this excellent art.  It is so awesome.  You can check the real site out here.  This is so beautiful and worth looking at as we come to the end of the road.  Especially after the long months of listening to lies, hatred and no substance from the McCain/empty headed Barbie side.  We are not worthy of substance.  But hope reigns and this art depicts it so absolutely wonderfully.

This is so beautiful and he has already received recognition for his beautiful art work so I feel very special to be allowed to showcase his beauty and inner specialness.  Now let’s meet the author and then I will introduce you to his perspective.

In the Artist words:

It feels rather fitting. Here we are near the finish line, and the biggest reason I have been working so hard for Barack Obama has finally hit the interwebs big time.

As an artist, and even more as an art educator, I have never had this much hope in a presidential candidate. Barack Obama actually has a fully fleshed platform for the Arts:

I have been phone banking my ear off these last precious days, and I consistently get parents who agree with this stance. The schools are losing all the enhancement programs that give their children an expanded sense of self. Clubs and music and art and dance and drama programs are being thrown away because of the tragic Bush economy and the criminally short sighted focus on high stakes standardized tests. Parents know how limited their childrens’ education has become. It’s time to do something about it.

You’ve got to love this man’s dedication for hope and change.  Now it’s time to listen to his perspective on art:

Barack Obama’s plan has three specific tactics, but his strategy will encourage all of us to get creative with the solutions to the real “culture war”. Here are the three seeds.

Expand Public/Private Partnerships Between Schools and Arts Organizations: Barack Obama and Joe Biden will increase resources for the U.S. Department of Education’s Arts Education Model Development and Dissemination Grants, which develop public/private partnerships between schools and arts organizations. They will also engage the foundation and corporate community to increase support for public/private partnerships.

Create an Artist Corps: Barack Obama and Joe Biden support the creation of an “Artists Corps” of young artists trained to work in low-income schools and their communities. Studies in Chicago have demonstrated that test scores improved faster for students enrolled in low-income schools that link arts across the curriculum than scores for students in schools lacking such programs.

Publicly Champion the Importance of Arts Education: As president, Barack Obama will use the bully pulpit and the example he will set in the White House to promote the importance of arts and arts education in America. Not only is arts education indispensable for success in a rapidly changing, high skill, information economy, but studies show that arts education raises test scores in other subject areas as well.

He is awesome (yea I’m a champion for people).  I know I said it before, but you can reach his awesome site here.

Enough said.

Last post of the night: Cutting through the fodder

November 3, 2008

I’ve been listening to the news all day long (yesterday to most of the west coast).  Oh my goodness the NBC/Mason Dixon poll is distressing for Obama supporters.  They should be noted for their polling skills, blah, blah, blah.  But, because I think and as Joe the not licensened plumber say constantly, check out the facts for yourself.  I did just that.  I went to all the other sites, real clear politics, CNN, Gallup, fivethirtyeight, Pollster.com, etc.  Wait a minute.  The Mason-Dixon line was not even close to reality.  All other polls contradicted their findings.  WTF?  What was I thinking.  The bias media who is in the tank for Obama would never come out with a bias poll.  Yes they would and they did.  Maybe they’re related to the Fox polls?  Please note that the Mason-Dixon results is the only anomaly.

My rant and raves are some coming to an end, maybe

November 3, 2008

I’ve stated to decide how I will continue blogging after the election.  If by some mysterious reason, by the help of the hounds of hell, McCain wins I will be blogging politically for a while.  But if Obama wins what will I do?  I’ve decided that I will be his worst enemy about being committed to the changes he proposed to achieve in his lofty aspirations.  I will mix in entertainment, national news and local news; but I will be watching carefully.  I want Obama to do what he stated he will do.  I do not expect him to do it all at once.  Hell we are in an economic decline.  He better start by dealing with the economy, after he has his cabinet in place.  Then I expect him to do something about Iraq.  I have hope in him but I am not a delusional fool.  I had no hope in McCain since he refuse to discuss issues.  Telling platitudes is something you do to children.  You do not speak that way to adults.  Much less do you advertise that you will not be dealing with the issues and plan to make the presidential race a personality contest.

Enough said.

What about Arizona?

November 3, 2008

Okay so we know that Obama have foot soliders in that state and have start pursuing flipping that state as well; but, he is not visiting that sate.  So what’s up with that?  But it is being repotted that Howrd Dean will be visiting on Obama’s behalf to continue the conversion.

On Monday, November 3rd DNC Chairman Howard Dean will spend the last full day of the 2008 presidential election helping to get out the vote for Democrats in John McCain’s home state of Arizona. Dean will headline a Get Out the Vote Rally with local Democrats in Tucson, Arizona on the heels of Arizona being moved from “Leaning McCain” to “Toss Up” by Real Clear Politics.

Democrats are organized, motivated and ready to bring about the positive change our country needs. Recent polls in Arizona indicate that the election will be close and Gov. Dean is committed to Getting Out the Vote in support of Obama-Biden and Democrats up-and-down the ballot.

All I can say is life’s a bitch when you refuse to speak about issues to a hungry nation (exception to  yahoos).

Enough said.

Coming to the end

November 3, 2008

I am so sick of this race that I could scream.  I feel sorry for McCain for selling his soul to win an election but then on the flip side I do not care.  I get tired of the cable news telling me how McCain can win by threading the needle and how he has been counted out before, blah, blah, blah.  The only thing I need is for all of us that are committed to go out and rock the vote.  That includes the young.  For Once the newscasters have it correct that the young will procrastinate until the last day.  But unlike older people that will walk away from long lines the young will not and use the experience to express their rights being infringed upon and will turn it into a protest and stay on the line just to have their say.  I have an 18 year old daughter that plans to vote and was screaming at one of her friends today about going out on election day and rocking the vote.  I will not be so presumptive and pretend I know the mind set of all young people, since that would be foolish; but, in their defense they are a defiant lot and will do what they feel they are committed too, even if at the last minute.  Trust me they will use their outrage of the process to make a change in how it will be fixed in the future.  They hate being imposed upon of course.  They are really our hope of improving the process since; especially, since no one shouts louder than the young about injustice.

Enough said.

Barack Obama rally – Cleveland, OH with Bruce Springsteen

November 3, 2008

Here’s Obama in Ohio which he made three different stops in today. Once again Bruce Springsteen came out to campaign with Obama and of course it was awesome.  I just can’t wait until Tuesday where the United States and the world can see that the yahoos do not rule the world.  America is not just a Christian country, we are many and we must show the world how we can live together in peace (yes, I am a christian, but one of those that believe in loving one another, hello).  Rock the vote for real.  I have never been so excited by an election in my many, many years of voting as I have at this time and this moment.

One Day to Change the World

November 3, 2008

Here’s nothing but hope at the world. I, as everyone knows by now, simply love the direction of these type of videos. This is not the kind of video McCain/Barbie can make. I don’t see a video of people calling Obama un-American, he’s a Muslim or the usual ugly hatred would make for good TV. No there is only one candidate that has inspired a nation and his name is Obama. Why? WE NEED A NEW DIRECTION for the 21st century.

Michelle Surprises a New Mexico Field Office

November 3, 2008

This is one reason it’s cool to be a female. You can motivate people and get away with hugging them too without entering into the world of personal hangups. The New Mexico office loved Michelle’s visit.   I like this about Obama’s campaign.  They get out there and put hands on and work Obama’s community organizing roots.

50 Barack Obamas: Wilmington NC Early Voting Parade

November 2, 2008

I love these type of videos. They real make me feel good when I see Americans voting for changes from all different ethnic backgrounds.  I know the GOP has been pushing hate really hard in the attempt to divide us and have also been using every fear mongering tactic they can think of, but it is not working.
